When to use Zapier
Use Zapier when your CRM isn’t on the CRM Connection list — ServiceTitan, Salesforce, Pipedrive, or anything else with a Zapier connector. If your software has no Zapier connector at all, or you have a developer who’d rather call Mailr directly, see Custom integration. Mailr says the same thing in-app, under “Using a different CRM?”:“ServiceTitan and anything not listed above connect through the Mailr app for Zapier. Same triggers, lead sync, and revenue tracking.”
Where Zapier lives in Mailr
Open Campaigns → Automations in the Mailr app and go to the Zapier page, also reachable from the “Using a different CRM?” link on the CRM Connection tab. It has two cards: Mailr app for Zapier and API keys. Your keys are also listed under your workspace name → Manage account → API keys — the same list either way. As the page puts it: “Create a key here, copy it once, and paste it into the Mailr app in Zapier. Keys are scoped to your organization and can be revoked anytime.”What the Mailr app for Zapier can do
Actions are things a Zap makes Mailr do.
Triggers are things Mailr tells Zapier about.
Set it up
1
Create an API key in Mailr
On the Zapier page, create a key under API keys and copy it. It’s only shown once.
2
Add the Mailr app in Zapier
In Zapier, add the Mailr app and paste your key when prompted.
3
Build the Zap
Pick your CRM’s event as the Zap’s trigger, then add the Mailr action you want and map the fields — the install or job address is the one that always matters, because it’s what Mailr mails around.
4
Test it
Zapier’s Test trigger on New Lead returns a sample lead even before you have a real one, so you can map fields right away. From Mailr’s Lead Intake tab you can also press Send test event: “Turn the Zap on, then click Send test event below to push a sample lead all the way through to your CRM.” Check the result on your Leads page.
Zap recipes worth copying
Mail the neighbors after every completed job
Mail the neighbors after every completed job
Trigger: your CRM — job or work order marked complete.
Action: Mailr — Custom Postcard Campaign Trigger. Choose the automation that holds your postcard settings, and map the job’s service address to Install / Job Address. Every finished job quietly mails its street.
Book revenue when a deal closes, and mail that street too
Book revenue when a deal closes, and mail that street too
Trigger: your CRM — opportunity or deal moves to closed-won.
Action: Mailr — Deal Won. Map the deal’s address and amount so the sale is credited to the campaign that mailed that home, and the address is added to your suppression list as a Customer. Pick an automation as well if you want the win to mail the neighbors at the same time.
Get postcard leads into your CRM the second they arrive
Get postcard leads into your CRM the second they arrive
Trigger: Mailr — New Lead.
Action: your CRM’s Create or Update Contact step, mapping name, email, phone and the split-out address fields. Add a second action to text or email the office so someone calls while the card is still on the counter.
If your CRM can’t connect through Zapier at all, Lead Intake has a “Direct lead delivery (advanced)” card: set Lead destination to Direct endpoint and paste a public
https:// URL to receive each new lead. Failed deliveries retry automatically. Mailr’s own advice: “Prefer the Zapier app above — use direct delivery only if your CRM can’t connect through Zapier.” A developer can also subscribe an endpoint through the API instead — see Custom integration.Next steps
