> ## Agent Instructions
> Mailr is a direct-mail marketing platform for US home-services contractors. Each postcard is personalized with an AI-enhanced image of the recipient's own home and a unique QR code that leads to a personalized landing page. Campaigns can target a neighborhood the customer draws on a map, the homes around past jobs they upload or import, or fire automatically from their CRM. Mailr does not mail an uploaded recipient list. When answering questions, prefer the exact steps and UI labels from these docs, and direct users to app.getmailr.com to sign in. For anything involving account-specific data, billing disputes, or mail that appears lost, direct the user to support@getmailr.com.

# First-run tour and checklist

> The seven-step welcome tour and the six-step getting-started checklist on your Mailr dashboard, including how to minimize, resume, replay, or hide them.

The first time you open your dashboard, Mailr walks you through the product in a seven-step tour,
and leaves a **"Getting started"** checklist at the top of the page so you can finish at your own
pace. This page explains both, and how to bring either back if you've closed it.

## The welcome tour

The tour opens automatically on the **Dashboard** the first time you arrive. Each step shows a short
headline, a few bullets, a "Find it under …" hint so you can find the same screen later, and a
button that takes you straight there.

| # | Step             | Headline                                    | Button                                                                             | Find it under                 |
| - | ---------------- | ------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------- |
| 1 | Welcome to Mailr | **"Show homeowners what's possible."**      | **"Skip for now"**                                                                 | —                             |
| 2 | Brand kit | **"Your brand, pulled from your website."** | **"Open brand kit"** | **Designs → Brand kit** |
| 3 | Design studio    | **"A postcard in about a minute."**         | **"Open the design studio"**                                                       | **Designs → New design**      |
| 4 | Landing pages | **"Every card gets a landing page."** | **"Browse page templates"**, or **"See your pages"** once your starter pages exist | **Campaigns → Landing pages** |
| 5 | Integrations     | **"Connect your CRM."**                     | **"See connections"**                                                              | **Campaigns → Automations**   |
| 6 | Campaigns        | **"Your first send, two easy paths."**      | **"Start a campaign"**                                                             | **Campaigns → New campaign**  |
| 7 | Billing          | **"Credits first, no surprises."**          | **"Open billing"**                                                                 | **Workspace → Billing**       |

If you picked a CRM when you set up your workspace, step 5 is tailored to it: the headline reads
**"Connect *\[your CRM]* in a couple of clicks."** and the button takes you straight to that CRM's
panel. If you chose **"Other"**, it takes you to the Zapier connection instead. See
[CRM integrations](/integrations/overview).

Move through the tour with **"Continue"** (the last step reads **"Done — let's go"**) and **"Back"**.
A progress bar of seven segments shows where you are.

### Minimize, resume, and replay

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="The tour disappeared — where did it go?">
    Clicking a step's button, pressing the **minimize** button ("Minimize — pick it back up any
    time"), pressing **Esc**, or clicking outside the tour all *minimize* it rather than closing it.
    It collapses into a floating **"Resume tour · 3/7"** chip in the bottom-right corner, and that
    chip follows you from page to page. Click it to pick up where you left off.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="It reopened on its own">
    That's intentional. When you finish the task you left to do — for example, your brand kit becomes
    complete — the tour pops back open at the next step so you keep moving.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="I want it gone for good">
    **"Skip for now"** on step 1, or the **X**, dismisses the tour permanently. Nothing is lost: the
    getting-started checklist on your dashboard covers the same steps.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="How do I replay it?">
    On the **Dashboard**, click the **"Tour"** button on the getting-started checklist. You can do
    this any time, even after dismissing it.

## The getting-started checklist

The **"Getting started"** strip sits at the top of your dashboard with a live completion percentage
and six chips. Each chip is a link to the screen that finishes it. The first unfinished chip is
highlighted, and finished ones show a check.

| Chip | Takes you to | Finished when |
| -------------------- | ----------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **"Brand kit"** | **Designs → Brand kit** | Your brand kit has a company name, at least one logo, and at least one color |
| **"First design"** | **Designs** | You have at least one approved design |
| **"Landing page"** | **Campaigns → Landing pages** | You have at least one published landing page — the starter pages Mailr publishes for you count, so this is often already done |
| **"Connect CRM"**    | **Campaigns → Automations**   | A CRM connection is live                                                                                                      |
| **"Add credits"** | **Workspace → Billing** | Your credit balance is above zero |
| **"First campaign"** | **Campaigns → New campaign** | You've created at least one campaign |

Chips tick off on their own as you go — there's nothing to mark complete by hand. Detail for each
one lives in [Brand kit](/designs/brand-kit), [Postcard designs](/designs/overview),
[Landing pages](/results/landing-pages), [CRM integrations](/integrations/overview),
[Credits and pricing](/billing/credits-and-pricing), and
[Create a campaign](/campaigns/create-a-campaign).

### Other things on the strip

* **A setup status chip.** While Mailr is reading your website in the background you'll see
  **"Reading your website — logo, colors, details…"**, then **"Adding photos from your website…"**.
  Both clear on their own. See [Set up your workspace](/getting-started/set-up-your-workspace).
* **Your free preview renders.** A meter reads **"N of M free preview renders left"**, with the
  tooltip *"Free preview renders remaining on your trial"*. Free preview renders are a small trial
  allowance for generating personalized images before you fund credits, so you can see real output
  first. The meter disappears once you add mail credits.
* **The "Tour" button.** Replays the welcome tour from step 1.
* **The X.** Hides the checklist for good — handy if, say, you'll never connect a CRM and don't want
  that chip staring at you.

<Tip>
  You don't have to hide it. The checklist removes itself automatically once all six steps are done.
